For everyone

Starting at Boldprint

The essentials for your first days — who we are, the practical bits, how we work together, and how we keep everyone safe and well.

Who we are

A grain of Boldness in everything we do

We're a London-based independent production company delivering fresh, innovative and (of course) BOLD unscripted global formats, with the best talent on and off screen. BOLDPRINT was launched in 2024 by CEO and Founder Phil Harris, alongside Creative Director Lou Hutchinson and Head of Production Emma Lehrer. Fremantle distribute our formats and finished programmes internationally.

Whether you're here for a short time or a long time, it's important to us that you have a great time at Boldprint — feeling valued, supported and part of the team.

Getting in & around

  • Fob: you'll be issued a company fob to enter and exit. A £25 charge applies if it's lost or not returned.
  • Security: the last person out secures the office — lock the door and make sure the external gate is shut behind you.
  • Bikes: use the racks inside the entrance gates (never in communal areas).
  • Meeting rooms: booked via the Kube app — speak to Marley to make a booking.

IT & your kit

You'll be given a laptop, an email address and a log-in when you start. Looking after your laptop is your responsibility — it can be kept in the lockable Boldprint office overnight.

Email policy

It's important to switch off. We try not to send emails between 7pm and 8am — unless you're on a shoot, in which case please text if it's urgent.

How we work

What to expect & what we expect from you

We set high standards because we care about the work and the people doing it. If something isn't clear or isn't working, talk to your Line Manager or the Head of Production.

📧 Email

We keep email purposeful. Every email tells you clearly what — if anything — is needed from you:

[ACTION]We need you to do something. Respond within 4 hours on shoot days, 24 hours otherwise.
[FYI]For your awareness. No response needed.
[APPROVAL]A specific sign-off is needed from you.
[URGENT]Time-critical. A deadline will be stated in the email.

If you're in the To field, you need to act. If you're CC'd, you're being kept in the loop — no response expected. Please don't reply-all unless you have something new to add.

🗓️ Meetings

We run meetings worth being in: a clear agenda in advance, the right people, and a decision or action at the end. No agenda? It won't go ahead. Laptops shut, phones face-down (one laptop for the notetaker). Written action points — who does what, by when — land within 2 hours.

⚖️ Decisions & escalation

We move fast and don't like things getting stuck. Decisions sit with the person closest to the work. Day-to-day production decisions go to your EP, Series Producer, Prod Exec or Line Producer. Budget, schedule or welfare issues go to the Head of Production. IT goes to the Office Manager. Anything with network, legal or reputational implications goes up the chain immediately. In doubt? Ask your EP first.

💬 WhatsApp

For urgent, same-day communication only — not for decisions, approvals or document sharing. If a decision gets made on WhatsApp, it gets confirmed in writing by email the same day.

Conduct

Being an ambassador for Boldprint

You're an ambassador of Boldprint — please don't conduct yourself in a way that's unprofessional, unethical, or likely to discredit the company.

It's strict company policy that no one may consume, possess or supply alcohol, drugs or illegal/controlled substances while rendering services in connection with a production (including meal breaks).

Safe & well

Health & safety essentials

Your safety is paramount. We want you looked after, working safely, with the right training and support. Please tell us about any reasonable adjustments you need, and flag anything that concerns you straight away.

🚨 In an emergency

Dial 999. Report all accidents — even minor ones — to your Line Manager, who holds our accident books. Incidents on a production go to your Line Producer.

First aid & fire wardens

The Campus Manager and Host (Piano House / TCN) are first-aid and fire-warden trained and can be called on during normal working hours.

If you discover a fire or hear the alarm

  • Raise the alarm at the nearest call point.
  • On the evacuation signal, leave immediately by your nearest route. Do not use the lift and don't stop to collect belongings.
  • Only fully-trained personnel should attempt to use extinguishers — do not take any personal risks.
  • If safe and time allows, close doors and windows behind you.
  • Go to the Fire Assembly Point — opposite Piano House, on Brighton Terrace, and report to your fire warden.
  • Don't re-enter until you are told it is safe to do so.

🐾 Pet evacuation: keep dogs on short leads or in carry cases, escort them calmly to the nearest refuge point, and report any missing pets to your fire warden.
